The William Hall Tippett and Ruth Rathell Tippett Foundation makes grants to public charities in San Diego County. The Foundation supports musical education for young people, medical care or research related to diseases of the elderly, theatre arts, animal welfare, and provides assistance for such religious, charitable, scientific, and educational purposes as would, in the judgment of the trustees, be consistent with the philanthropic goals and objectives of William Hall Tippett and Ruth Rathell Tippett.
William Hall Tippett was an oil and gas entrepreneur, and Ruth Rathell Tippett was a former singer with the St. Louis Opera Company. Together, they were known for their patronage of the arts, shared love of horses, and long-standing commitment to charitable giving.
